Chingay 2007
Went to watch the Chingay parade at Orchard with Jia Xin yesterday night. (Thanks to Jia Hui for last minute tickets, haha) We got half-lane seatings and watchers were allowed to talk and take photos witht the dancers. (though for only a minute or 2) It was great overall but it got really hot and stuffy in the middle. My leg almost went numb sitting on the road for nearly 2 hours. But, I enjoyed shooting away with my phone cam. For those getting tickets in the future, half-lane seatings are the best for photo-shooting.
There were tons of people. People crowding on the half-lanes, people trying to grab free views from the sidewalks and not to forget people who filled up the seats (40 bucks tickets) near Heeren. Everyone was enthusiastic. Even a group of India kids popped out from nowhere and sat out of the line so that they could snap pictures with almost any dancers that paraded by.
Here are some photos I took. They aren't of good quality cos my phone cam is only 1.3 megapixel powerful. My digi-cam ran out of (usable) batts to use. =(
